Principal Policies
- This rate book has been compiled for foreign advertisers as a digest
of the information contained in the rate book used in Korea. Other conditions
and associated charges may apply to cases not covered in the rate book.

- Rates are subject to change.
- Ad space can be requested for a designated date or designated page,
but unlike the common pratice in the United States, pages are not determined
according to the volume of advertising. So, when a specific request
cannot be fullfilled, an alternative plan is proposed to the advertiser.
- JoongAng Ilbo will not accept responsibility for ads that are not
published due to labor disputes, accidents or natural disasters, war,
breakdown of equipment or other operating difficulties.
- The publisher will not accept responsibility for claims that an advertisement
is related to unfair trade pratices or competition; infringes on property
rights, copyright, trademark or patent; violates privacy; or contains
characters or language that discriminate against sex, race or religion.
- The publisher reserves the right to determine the propriety of placing
an ad and the right to revise the contents of an ad and advertiser will
be notified accordingly in advance of the publication. The contents
and structure of ads and space used must be in accordance with JoongAng
Ilbo standards.
- Once an ad has been sent to the printer it is not subject to cancellation
or revision. Mistakes related to proofreading are the sole responsibility
of the advertiser or the agency that was involved on behalf of the advertiser.
- Business practices regarding the shape and content of advertising,
particularly in regard to ads comparing one product with another or
coupon ads, may differ from those in other countries. Advertisers and
advertising agencies must present all ad copy and business requirements
to JoongAng Ilbo to obtain approval before an ad can be placed.
